Job Summary
Provide direct patient care and daily living support under the direction of a registered nurse, including assistance with activities of daily living, meal set-up, skin care, and safe patient transport. Support patient monitoring and data collection by obtaining vital signs, pulse oximetry, and 12-lead ECGs while promptly reporting status changes. Prepare, use, and maintain equipment such as cardiac monitors and suction systems, and perform hourly rounding to promote a safe environment. Accurately document care in the electronic medical record and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team. Participate in ongoing education and mentor new Clinical Assistants to meet performance expectations. Requires a CNA license or equivalent experience, basic life support certification, and a high school diploma.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- CNA, PCT, MA, EMT or equivalent experience
- Certification as a nursing assistant
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification by the American Heart Association (AHA) or the Red Cross
- Knowledge of English language sufficient to read, speak and write accurately
- Knowledge of simple math
- Ability to lift and transport patients using the appropriate physical technique in a safe manner for the patient and self according to the safe patient handling guidelines
- Proficiency in basic computer skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, visitors, and personnel
- Schedule: 36 hours per week, with rotating weekends
- Days, 7a-7p
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience not required with CNA license
