Clinical Assistant

Clinical Assistant at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute located in Boston and surrounding communities. Responsibilities include ensuring proper patient identification and maintaining patient safety, privacy and confidentiality under HIPAA; obtaining and recording vital signs, pain screens, weights and heights into EMR; collecting specimens and ensuring accurate labeling; performing phlebotomy and EKG as applicable; assisting with transport, equipment and supplies; supporting medical record preparation and data entry as required; maintaining equipment and environment; using telephone/pager systems and providing proactive instruction to patients and families; completing mandatory training and competency assessments; and adhering to Institute policies. Minimum qualifications include high school diploma or GED, 2 years of equivalent medical setting experience, phlebotomy certification may be preferred based on location (Yawkey 2, Satellites), and BLS certification within 60 days of hire.
