Job Summary
Collaborate with healthcare practitioners to deliver high-quality patient care by greeting patients, obtaining medical histories, and documenting vitals and medications in the EHR system. Perform routine office procedures including suture/staple removal, casting, bracing, and injections while assisting with patient examinations and treatments. Educate patients on care needs using instruction sheets and manage administrative duties such as ordering supplies, stocking rooms, and responding to messages. Clean and sterilize equipment after each encounter and monitor work queues. Travel to other OrthoCarolina locations may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited program for medical assistants, athletic training, or nursing
- Certification
- CMA/RMA must be registered/certified through one of the following national organizations: American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), National HealthCareer Association (NHA), American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), or American Medical Certification Association (AMCA)
- EMTs will need Emergency Medical Technician certification
- ATCs will need to be board certified as Athletic Trainer
- Travel to other OC locations may be required
