Job Summary
Conduct structured academic counseling and develop Individualized Remediation Plans for students failing competency benchmarks in didactic coursework, OSCEs, or clinical assessments. Partner with faculty to address professionalism deficiencies by creating Professional Improvement Plans and serve as a standing member of the Student Progress Committee. Design and maintain an early identification system to flag at-risk learners using assessment trends and faculty alerts, while establishing scheduled touchpoints for all enrolled students. Develop, implement, and evaluate an annual program-wide wellness calendar addressing mental health, stress resilience, and burnout prevention, integrating wellness literacy into the curriculum. Coordinate warm referrals to university counseling services, accessibility offices, and the Dean of Students to ensure comprehensive student support. Teach assigned didactic content in areas aligned with clinical expertise and contribute to professional development curriculum design. Operate as a Campus Security Authority with Mon-Fri, 8 AM-5 PM hours.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree from an ARC-PA-accredited Physician Assistant program
- Current NCCPA certification
- Unrestricted Texas state license (or be license eligible) as a Physician Assistant
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical practice
- PhD or EdD in Education or related field
- Knowledge and understanding of disciplinary subject matter at a level adequate for graduate-level instruction
- Written and oral communication skills sufficient to conduct effective teaching and research activities
- Ability to interact with students, staff, and faculty in a professional, collegial, and collaborative manner
- Valid driver's license

- Previous clinical precepting or teaching experience for an ARC-PA-accredited Physician Assistant or program
