Job Summary
Conduct initial reviews, face-to-face, video, or telephone assessments to evaluate how a claimant's health condition or disability affects them for benefits such as WCA or PIP. Analyse and interpret clinical information and supporting evidence, then write detailed evidence-based reports to support the DWP in making informed and objective decisions. Use IT systems to support clinical decision-making and report writing while developing clinical knowledge of less familiar health conditions. Full or part-time hours (minimum 3 days per week) Monday to Friday between 8am to 5pm, with occasional 8pm finishes. Starting salary of £39,500 rising to £40,500 after DWP approval, plus a 10% bonus scheme. Requires NMC registered nurse, paramedic, occupational therapist, or physiotherapist with one year's post-registration experience. Part-time staff must work Fridays; includes an initial 8-week paid training period.
Required Qualifications
- NMC registered Nurse (RGN, RMN or RNLD)
- HCPC registered paramedic, occupational therapist or physiotherapist
- Valid PIN
- No current restrictions
- Minimum of one year's post-registration experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to produce clear, accurate and detailed reports
- Comfortable working quickly to meet structured targets
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Office
- Ability to learn new systems while working remotely
- Excellent observational and communication skills
- Ability to listen, empathise and dig deeper
- A driving licence or access to transport for assessment centre working
- Right to work in the UK
- Successful completion of government baseline personnel security standard vetting
- Enhanced criminality check results showing both spent and unspent convictions
- Valid PIN
