Job Summary
Clinical Applications Specialist I supporting assembly of Carl Zeiss instruments, on-site and remote trainings in a multi-state territory (VA, WV, KY, TN, NC, SC). Responsibilities include coordinating trainings, troubleshooting equipment, training technicians/doctors on instrument operation, maintaining GMP and ISO 9001 processes, liaising with Regional Sales Managers and Field Service Engineers, documenting expenses and training checklists, and traveling up to overnight with frequent customer visits. Requires ophthalmology experience (visual fields, lensometry, refractometry, Biometry and/or fundus photography); basic computer skills (Microsoft Office); valid driver’s license; ability to lift up to 70 pounds; willingness to travel; and strong customer service and communication abilities.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years ophthalmology clinic setting or diagnostic ophthalmology industry experience
- knowledge of visual fields, lensometry, refractometry, and Biometry and/or fundus photography
- basic computer skills (Microsoft Office—Word, Excel)
- valid driver’s license
- ability to travel overnight and work occasional weekends
- strong communications skills
- ability to follow standard practices & procedures in data analysis
