Job Summary
Senior Clinical and Disability Lead based at MSD’s National Office in Wellington (0.6–0.8 FTE). The role provides national Health and Disability expertise to support client outcomes, leading the development and delivery of guidance, tools, and training for frontline and regional teams; collaborates with the Chief Clinical Advisor and Lead Vocational Advisor to promote consistent practice; supports the Ministry’s ‘second opinion’ and appeals processes through training, guidance, and quality assurance of Designated Health Practitioners and Medical Appeal Board members; requires registration with the NZ Medical Council and a current practicing certificate. Occasional travel may be required. The role emphasizes leadership, strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement, and the development of learning materials to improve employment-related outcomes for New Zealanders.
Required Qualifications
- Registered medical practitioner with the New Zealand Medical Council and current practicing certificate
- Significant clinical experience in the health and/or disability sector
- Experience in long term condition/disability management, work capacity and rehabilitation
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to develop and deliver engaging learning material
- Established relationships within the health and disability sector
