Job Summary
Facilitate the smooth operation of the Nursing Department and hospital in the absence of department directors by managing nursing resources to maintain and improve patient recovery. Maintain open communication with nursing staff, physicians, and the administrative team to coordinate staffing needs, resolve unforeseen patient care events, and implement change for efficient, safe care. Coordinate interdepartmental functions and make administrative decisions regarding total plant operations, while role modeling and coaching staff to develop clinical and leadership skills. Work directly with the health care team to problem solve and suggest alternatives to achieve staffing objectives and patient processing goals.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- 3-5 years Experience in nursing
- 1 year Management, preferably in an acute care setting
- 2 years Experience as Clinical Administrative Supervisor in a hospital setting
- 1 year Experience in an intensive care setting
- Effective communication skills
- Organizes and prioritizes work efficiently
- Functions as a positive role model and resource for all team members
- Registered Nurse - RN (CA Board of Registered Nursing)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
- Fire Life Safety Training (LA City)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI)
- Certification - Job Relevant Clinical certification
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Nursing or related field, or in progress
- Master's Degree in Nursing may be in lieu-of Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
