Job Summary
Facilitate the smooth operation of the Nursing Department and hospital functions in the absence of directors, participating in all aspects of problem resolution beyond standard shift scope. Manage nursing resources to maintain patient recovery processes, coordinate staffing needs, and communicate significant events through the chain of command to nursing directors, managers, and physicians. Maintain open lines of communication with all individuals to meet mission priorities while modeling clinical and managerial leadership skills. Assist in managing unforeseen patient care events and implementing change to ensure efficient, safe patient care. Work part-time 12-hour days in a 343-bed acute care hospital setting, collaborating with management and the health care team to achieve staffing objectives and fiscal responsibility.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- 3-5 years Experience in nursing
- 1 year Management, preferably in an acute care setting
- 2 years Experience as Clinical Administrative Supervisor in a hospital setting
- 1 year Experience in an intensive care setting
- Effective communication skills
- Organizes and prioritizes work efficiently
- Functions as a positive role model and resource for all team members
- Registered Nurse - RN (CA Board of Registered Nursing)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
- Fire Life Safety Training (LA City)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI)
- Master's Degree in Nursing or related field, or in progress
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Nursing may be in lieu-of Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
