Job Summary
Clinical Adjunct Nurse Faculty are responsible for supplementing classroom experiences by teaching and supervising pre-licensure BSN nursing students in clinical settings. Responsibilities include making patient/student assignments, providing clinical instruction, assessing student progress, and completing formal evaluations of clinical performance. Candidates must hold at least a Bachelor's degree in Nursing and have two years of clinical experience. Preference is given to those with a Master's degree in Nursing and prior teaching experience. Candidates must also have a current nursing license in North Carolina and be prepared to complete required teaching and learning principles within a specified timeframe.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree (BSN) from an accredited institution of higher education
- Two calendar years of full-time clinical experience as a registered nurse
- Current unrestricted license or multistate licensure privilege to practice as a registered nurse in North Carolina
- Preparation in teaching and learning principles for adult education or ability to complete the North Carolina Board of Nursing teaching/learning requirements within three years of hire
- Current knowledge of nursing practice for registered nurses
Desired Qualifications
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and previous experience teaching clinical in a Registered Nursing or higher program
Additional Requirements
- Must hold a current unrestricted license or multistate licensure privilege to practice as a registered nurse in North Carolina
