Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care to patients within the medical practice in support of, and as directed by, the physicians. Assist the physician in the treatment of patients and complete related clinical paperwork. Maintain a caring, friendly, personal, and professional approach when communicating with patients, families, visitors, and employees. Integrate Mercy's philosophy of caring for the sick and suffering, respect for human life, and the dignity of each person into your work ethic. Perform related duties as assigned while complying with all federal, state, and local regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Knowledge of the principles and skills needed for nursing, care, examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures
- Knowledge of medications and their effects
- Knowledge of patient education
- Knowledge of principles to develop a self-care program
- Knowledge of instruments and common safety practices
- Current valid state license
