Job Summary
Maintain smooth clinic flow by directing patients to exam rooms, monitoring wait times, and managing daily appointment schedules. Prepare exam rooms, obtain vital signs, and document patient information including allergies and medications. Assist with procedures, collect and label specimens, and transport stable or unstable patients as directed. Perform point of care testing, obtain medications, and respond to Code 7 situations. Ensure a safe, clean environment by storing supplies per Joint Commission standards, checking expiration dates, and maintaining equipment readiness. Greet patients, verify insurance, and manage telephone calls while entering charges and diagnoses into the computer.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED)
- Currently registered with the State of Wisconsin Registry for Nursing Assistants to be eligible for employment in the basic provider settings, or certified as one of the following: Clinical Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/National Safety Council
- Cyclic Schedule: Week 1 – Monday 0730-1600, Wednesday 0800-1630 Week 2 – Monday 0830-1700, Wednesday 0800-1630, Friday 0730-1600
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in a pediatric healthcare environment
- Proficient data entry skills with accuracy and speed
