Job Summary
Conduct nursing assessments, telephone and in-person triage, and administer medications and treatments as part of an interdisciplinary team. Perform procedures within scope of practice including wound care and ear syringing while providing client education and advocacy. Support the overall function of the clinic by coordinating care with other health professionals. Requires three to five years of community nursing experience, current RN or RPN license, and fluency in English. Based at Somerset West Community Health Centre in Eccles & Rosemount, this casual role offers compensation of $28.32-$33.40 for RPNs and $37.50-$45.25 for RNs.
Required Qualifications
- Three to five years' experience in community nursing working with diverse populations
- Previous clinic experience
- Previous experience using an EMR
- Experience providing routine immunizations for all ages
- Current license with the College of Nurses of Ontario (RN/RPN)
- Fluency in English
Desired Qualifications
- Previous clinic experience an asset
- Previous experience using an EMR, preferably Practice Solutions Suite (PSS)
- Current CPR (preferred)
- Working knowledge of French or other languages an asset
- Knowledge of primary health care and the social determinants of health
- Able to work effectively in an inter-professional environment
- Knowledge and awareness related to cultural competence
- Experience working with disadvantaged communities
- Knowledge of nursing care related to Primary Care/Community Health/Chronic Disease Management
