Job Summary
Conduct patient assessments over the phone by asking detailed questions about symptoms and medical history. Utilize critical thinking skills to determine the appropriate level of care needed and provide medical advice based on established protocols. Direct patients to the right healthcare provider or service, including scheduling appointments for further testing and securing prescription refills as directed by the practitioner. Maintain accurate documentation of all patient interactions, symptoms, advice given, and follow-up plans in the electronic medical record. Contact patients to discuss laboratory test or imaging study results and identify situations requiring immediate medical attention. Process prescription refills and complete incident reports when appropriate. Full-time day shift with 80 hours biweekly.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing
- LPN Licensure in the State of Indiana
- CPR
- Background in medical-surgical nursing and immunizations
- Knowledge of clinic function
- Knowledge of community health resources for alternate health services
- Knowledge of community health nursing principles and practices
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written reports
- Strong clinical knowledge and understanding of common medical conditions
- Maintains current knowledge of medications
- Ability to prioritize and organize work
- Knowledgeable of and compliant with clinic policies and procedures
Desired Qualifications
- Two years experience in physician's office or related experience (preferred, but not required)
