Job Summary
Medical Assistant/Clinical Assistant responsible for assisting Providers in patient care, recording and updating medical histories, scheduling appointments, performing procedures such as drawing blood and taking vitals, entering information into patient medical records, CLIA-waived testing, spirometry, vaccine orders, minor wound care, and administrative tasks including answering phones and updating records. Duties span clinical duties (measuring vital signs, assisting examinations, blood draws, minor procedures, wound care, medication administration, lab testing) and administrative duties (scheduling, medical records, vaccine and inventory management). Strong communication in English, independence, empathy, and reading comprehension are required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Pass a minimum of one exam from the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA)
- 2+ years healthcare experience (preferred)
- Ability to communicate clearly in English (oral and written)
- Ability to respond to inquiries from patients, physicians, peers, regulatory agencies, or business community
- Ability to work independently
- Empathy and active listening; reading comprehension
