Job Summary
Lead assigned functional teams in providing exceptional customer service during every patient encounter and offer operational leadership to the staff supporting the Ophthalmologist in conduct of office visits and in-office surgical procedures. Ensure staff correctly submit physician-prescribed medications and refills, maintain timely process flow for visual fields, Biometry, refractions, OCT, and Topography testing, and accurately reflect patient exam information in electronic health records. Oversee patient communication regarding follow-up care and surgeries, maintain sanitary equipment use, and assist the Clinical Manager in training, staff development, and performance evaluations. Manage prior authorizations, patient refills, doctor schedules, and referral correspondence while enforcing HIPAA and OSHA standards. Some Saturdays may be required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 5 years (minimum) leading a clinical team in ophthalmology
- 5 years EMR experience and medical documentation
- Favorable result on background check
- Must be able to provide proof of their identity and their right to work in the United States
- Some Saturdays may be required
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience with management of PACS or similar systems
- Current Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification or a related area of study
