Job Summary

Conduct daily patient assessments, administer medications, and perform routine procedures in the cardiology clinic. Gathers and records pertinent medical information, including diagnostic reports, while maintaining detailed and accurate documentation. Assists physicians with examinations, invasive procedures, and minor medical tasks, preparing patients for treatment through positioning and site disinfection. Provides patient education on treatment regimens and interprets vital signs and diagnostic test results. Collaborates with healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care and maintains infection control practices throughout the work area.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Licensed Practical Nurse license, eligible to practice in the state of Kentucky
  • Current CPR certification
  • Experience with electronic medical records
  • Must be able to see with corrective eyewear
  • Color vision ability required
  • Must be able to hear clearly with assistance
  • Lifting - 0-50- lbs, 50 or more with assistance
  • Carrying - 0-50 lbs, 50 or more with assistance
  • Pulling - Up to 200 lbs
  • Pushing - Up to 200 lbs
  • Must be able to administer medications orally, subcutaneously, intramuscularly, intradermally, intranasally, or optically as ordered by a licensed provider
  • Competent in performing point-of-care testing as ordered by a licensed provider while adhering to OSHA regulations with an emphasis on patient safety and quality control
  • Maintains infection control practices by cleaning patient care areas before, between, and after usage
  • Demonstrates appropriate awareness for suspected abuse and/or neglect to report them according to protocol
  • Identifies and plans for appropriate safety precautions to be taken to prevent injury to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
  • Takes vital signs at appropriate sites and is able to interpret per norms
  • Is familiar with location and use of pediatric emergency equipment and drugs
  • Is familiar with location and use of emergency equipment and drugs for the adolescent patient
  • Is familiar with location and use of emergency equipment and drugs for the adult patient
  • Is familiar with location and use of emergency equipment and drugs for the geriatric patient
  • Maintains patient confidentiality
  • Maintains a good relation with all staff members
