Job Summary
Provide direct speech and language therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in our Bakersfield outpatient clinic. Implement individualized treatment plans for patients across the lifespan, addressing speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders. Collect accurate treatment data, monitor progress toward established goals, and maintain timely documentation using company-provided AI tools while ensuring HIPAA compliance. Collaborate with patients, families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to promote successful communication outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program or related field
- Current, active California Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Ability to work collaboratively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish rapport with patients of all ages
- Understanding of speech and language development and communication disorders
- Knowledge of evidence-based treatment strategies appropriate for the SLPA scope of practice
- Ability to adapt intervention techniques to meet individual patient needs
- Proficiency using electronic documentation systems and technology
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Must be able to lift or move items up to 20 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience working with pediatric and/or adult patients in an outpatient, rehabilitation, healthcare, or educational setting
