Clinic Coding Educator - Clinic Coding Services - FT - Day

Job Summary

Maintain working knowledge of CPT-4 and ICD-10 coding principles to provide ongoing physician and non-physician practitioner coding and compliance education. Conduct regular audits of physician and non-physician services, review claim denials for trends, and respond to outside audit requests from third-party payors. Develop materials per regulatory guidelines to present group education to providers, clinic staff, and coders, ensuring accurate documentation and compliant reimbursement. Stay current with regulatory changes and notify appropriate teams, while contributing to LEAN/Performance Excellence processes and process improvements within the coding department.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • 5 years Multi-Specialty Coding Experience
  • Thorough understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, CPT and ICD-10 coding with ability to apply regulatory coding guidelines across multiple specialties
  • Certified Coding Specialist - CCS
  • Certified Professional Coder - AAPC
  • Certified Professional Medical Auditor - AAPC CPMA
  • Must stay informed of most recent regulatory guidelines and educate appropriate teams
  • Must have skillset to prepare coding materials per regulatory guidelines in a format understandable to providers and clinical teams
  • 10% Travel to provide education to Physicians/APP's and clinical teams as appropriate
  • Commitment to LEAN/Performance Excellence processes established within the coding department and ability to identify process improvements
