Job Summary
Show patients to the examination room and prepare them for the provider while recording past medical history, vaccine status, vital statistics, and medication reconciliation. Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations, answer and direct phone calls, and document messages in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR). Cares for instruments by cleaning, packaging, and sterilizing where equipment is available. Administer medication and perform treatment in accordance with standards of care, translating pediatric doses appropriately. Collect, label, and transport specimens; assess patients for safety and medication dosage appropriateness. Collaborate with patient care planning, assist with special tests and procedures, and act as a liaison between patients, families, providers, and staff. Floats to other clinical departments as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must successfully pass a background check
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and breath alcohol test
- Must complete an Employee Health meeting prior to starting employment
- Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Course
- Must be Certified or Registered
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or be obtained within ninety (90) days of hire)
- One (1) year experience with patients in a clinic setting
