Job Summary
Athletic Trainer – Outreach provides assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries under physician guidance. The role supports daily practice and game coverage, develops injury-prevention and treatment programs, and serves as a liaison among physicians, the school district, athletes, and families. Responsibilities include administering prescribed treatments, evaluating injuries, applying modalities (heat, ice, electrical stimulation, hydrotherapy), manual therapy and soft tissue techniques, proper taping/bracing/equipment fitting, documentation of patient recovery, and reporting to the team physician. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology, Athletic Training, or Physical Education with Athletic Training emphasis; NATABOC Certification; LAT; and CPR/BLS certification. Preferred: Master’s in Athletic Training; experience in sports medicine. Work schedule includes days and weekends with on-call duties; this position is full-time. Expected to contribute to injury prevention programming and collaboration with clinicians, family physicians, and school personnel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology, Athletic Training or Physical Education w/ Athletic Training emphasis
- NATABOC Certification; LAT - Licensed Athletic Trainer by NC Board of Athletic Trainer Examiners; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
