Job Summary
Collaborate with providers throughout each shift to determine work assignments, prioritize tasks, and communicate the status of delegated tasks and patient data findings. Maintain timely verbal communication to ensure effective care and operations at the Medical Respite Center while acting as a liaison between providers and other staff. Obtain and record accurate routine patient vital signs, assist with new patient admissions and discharges, and track quality metrics, imaging/lab results, and prior authorizations. Properly document all aspects of patient care in the EHR, assist with clerical tasks, and treat each patient with confidentiality and dignity. This role requires extended periods of sitting and standing, lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, and a minimum of one year of related healthcare experience.
Required Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to obtain vital signs accurately
- Proficient in reading and writing skills in English
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment
- Interest in working with an underserved population
- CPR Certification
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant and/or Medical Assistant program and/or equivalent medical course
- Minimum of one (1) year of related experience that demonstrates an understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Experience in a healthcare setting
- Prior knowledge of prior authorization
- At least 21 years old
- Valid Arizona driver's license, in effect for at least 3 years
- Ability to lift, carry and push 20 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis
