Job Summary
Conduct proficient nursing care for patients with uncomplicated to highly complex needs by identifying trends in patient status and planning appropriate interventions. Collaborate with nurse leaders to develop standards of care and document individualized plans that integrate assessment data with pathophysiology. Serve as a patient advocate by communicating clinical concerns to the multidisciplinary team and utilizing Contemporary Primary Nursing and Interdisciplinary Model of Care strategies to optimize outcomes. Assume resource roles for unit management, act as a consultant for clinical management, and delegate tasks to peers and ancillary staff. Participate in unit-based committees, formulate departmental goals, and lead quality assurance audits. Provide input to orientation programs, conduct individual onboarding for new staff, and evaluate formal in-service education initiatives. Complete all mandatory competencies within the designated timeframe.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Nursing
- Minimum of 2 years of experience within specialty
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure in the District of Columbia
- CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days
- C-EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring from the National Certification Corporation (NCC) for Perinatal nurses (labor and delivery antepartum antenatal testing) within 12 months from date of hire
