Job Summary
Climbing arborist trainee role with The Davey Tree Expert Company in Toledo, OH. Learn to climb trees and perform pruning and removal services safely on a tree crew, including identifying trees, pruning, removing deadwood, and learning to install cables, bracing, and lightning protection. Responsibilities include operating tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts), assisting in hazardous-tree removal, and maintaining equipment. Training will cover safety practices; opportunities for advancement and comprehensive benefits are provided. Requires outdoors work, willingness to learn climbing, and completion of company orientation and safety courses (First Aid, CPR, defensive driving) upon hire; pesticide licenses are preferred where state law requires.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
- Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
