Job Summary
Climber responsibilities include climbing, pruning, and removing trees per Foreperson directives; load/unload trucks with logs and debris; operate hand/pole saws, pruners, loppers, and gas-powered chain saws; inspect tools and equipment; enforce safe practices and communicate with teammates; perform storm-work duties as needed; travel for storm restoration; must have climbing/rigging knowledge, first-aid/CPR certification, and the ability to pass background checks and drug screens. Must possess a valid driver’s license and meet I-9 requirements. The role emphasizes safety, physical ability to work at heights, and compliance with PPE and emergency procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum two years previous professional experience required
- Driver's license required
- Must pass background check
- Drug screen required
- Must meet I-9 employment eligibility
- Must obtain and maintain first-aid certification and CPR
- Must be able to travel out of town for storm restoration work
- Must wear PPE as required
- Ability to operate knots, ropes, and rigging devices used in tree trimming/removal
- Must be able to climb and descend trees using rope and safety saddle
- Safety-conscious and able to work in varying weather conditions
