Job Summary
The Climber position involves tree climbing, pruning, and removal, focusing on safety and proper equipment use. Candidates should have experience in related fields, a high school diploma equivalent, and the ability to work at heights under various conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of all knots, ropes, and rigging devices used in tree trimming and removal operations
- Able to climb and descend trees using rope and safety saddle
- Administer and implement emergency rescue techniques including tree rescue and applicable first aid techniques
- Familiar with electrical hazards and appropriate operating procedures when near electrical conductors
- Work and maneuver at considerable heights under varying and adverse weather conditions
- Possess physical strength and agility, good balance, and depth perception
- Quickly remove oneself from a potential danger area
- Obtain and maintain first-aid certification and CPR
- Wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Travel out of town for storm restoration work when needed
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in electric utility vegetation management, construction, logging, landscaping, mechanical, or military industries
- Previous climbing experience
