Job Summary
Positions available for Lifeguards and Swim Instructors, with a pay rate of $16.43/hour. Lifeguards must maintain certification and pass the CDYMCA swim test, while Swim Instructors must demonstrate swim teaching skills. All candidates must be at least 16 years old, complete required CPR/AED and First Aid training, and complete various training sessions upon hiring. Required Qualifications
- Minimum age of 16 or older (with valid NYS working papers for minors)
- Ability to maintain certification-level physical and mental readiness
- Lifeguards must have a valid lifeguard certification (within 30 days of hire)
- Ability to pass the CDYMCA swim test
- Basic computer skills
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to relate to diverse groups in the community
- Basic life support or professional rescuer CPR/AED, First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen Administration (completed within 30 days of hire)
- Completion of New Employee Orientation, Sexual Harassment, ALICE (Active Shooter), and Bloodborne Pathogens trainings (within 90 days of hire)
