Job Summary
Greet clients and patients with a friendly, professional attitude while answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, and confirming visits. Check patients in and out, prepare medical records, and maintain accurate client information using veterinary practice management software. Process invoices and payments via cash, credit cards, checks, and CareCredit transactions while monitoring wait times and communicating updates. Obtain patient histories, vaccination records, and complete required paperwork, directing medical questions to licensed technicians or veterinarians as needed. Maintain a clean, organized reception area and assist with training new team members. Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Compensation ranges from $18.00 to $21.00 per hour with shift differentials for late-night shifts.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 1 year of receptionist or customer service experience
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities
- Detail-oriented with accurate data entry and recordkeeping skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Ability to operate a multi-line phone system, perform clerical tasks, and process payments
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Team player with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Compassionate, professional, and passionate about providing exceptional care to pets and their owners
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and other scheduled shifts as needed
- Willingness to learn veterinary terminology
Desired Qualifications
