Job Summary
Deliver prompt, professional service to policyholders via phone, email, and in person, handling inquiries on coverage, billing, claims, and policy changes. Process endorsements, renewals, and cancellations using the Cognition+ system while preparing insurance documentation and maintaining accurate client records. Build strong relationships to support retention and identify cross-selling opportunities, collaborating closely with underwriting, claims, and loss control teams. Review inspection reports and communicate underwriting concerns to clients as required. This office-based role in the Agent Department requires a General Insurance license and 3–5 years of customer service experience, with regular five-day attendance essential.
Required Qualifications
- College diploma or university degree
- General Insurance (Other Than Life) License (RIBO)
- Minimum 3–5 years of customer service experience, preferably within the insurance industry
- Experience with property, automobile, farm, or commercial insurance
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of Ontario insurance regulations and Mutual insurance practices
- Understanding of insurance wordings and rating manuals
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- A positive, proactive, customer-first attitude
- The ability to prioritize competing responsibilities and consistently meet deadlines
- Flexibility, adaptability, and a collaborative approach to teamwork
- Professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information
- This is an office-based position and regular attendance in the office five (5) days per week is an essential requirement of the role
Desired Qualifications
- Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation
- Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP) designation
- Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation
- Experience working within the Mutual insurance system
