Job Summary
Serve as a trusted point of contact for Medicare clients, assisting with enrollment support, coverage changes, billing questions, and claims issues. Maintain accurate prospect and client information in CRM systems while supporting proactive outreach, including renewal reminders and plan review follow-ups. Prepare materials for client reviews and coordinate with carriers to monitor application status and resolve issues. Participate in new business appointments alongside an experienced consultant to develop skills for independent Medicare consultations and cross-selling opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Active Life & Health State insurance license (with ability to obtain any required resident or non-resident licenses)
- Current AHIP and/or Medicare carrier certifications, or ability to complete required Medicare certifications before advising on applicable products
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Medicare, individual health insurance, senior insurance, client service, financial services, or a related client-facing role
- Strong ability to navigate technology and learn new systems (i.e. CRM, web-based logins and Agency Management Systems)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, carriers, producers, and internal team members
- Professional demeanor with ability to maintain confidential information
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
- Strong attention to detail, organization, follow-up, and documentation habits
- Active State Life & Health License
- Required Medicare/AHIP and carrier product certifications
- Ability to obtain required licensure within 90 days of hire, where applicable (reciprocity)
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience working directly with Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, Prescription Drug Plans, and/or senior insurance products
- Experience supporting renewals, enrollment meetings, and client coverage reviews
- Experience conducting client consultations, prospect meetings, or insurance sales conversations
- Interest in moving into a producer or sales role over time
- Comfort with prospecting, networking, referrals, and new business development
- Client-first service mindset with strong follow-through
- Consultative communication and relationship-building skills
- Detail-oriented planning, documentation, and issue resolution
- Self-motivated, coachable, and willing to learn from an experienced Medicare professional
- Sales curiosity and willingness to actively pursue new opportunities
- Adaptability in a high-growth, evolving business environment
