Job Summary
Manage client import operations by creating customs entries, verifying documentation for release conditions, and ensuring accurate tariff classification and billing. Maintain the client tariff database, monitor system defaults, and audit service delivery activities to uphold compliance and quality standards. Prioritize work based on client needs and customs requirements while coordinating with carriers and internal teams to resolve exceptions and improve operational efficiency. Support Release Operations members with guidance and mentoring to achieve service levels and compile performance measurement statistics.
Required Qualifications
- 3 years of related experience
- High School/GED or equivalent
- Associates Degree or post-secondary education
- Certified Customs Specialists (CCS) designation with the Canadian Society of Customs Brokers (CSCB) or the National Customs Brokers & Forwarders Association of America (NCBFAA)
- Successful completion of the CCS examination
- Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills
- Client Service oriented -- interpersonal skills with internal/external clients and coworkers
- Ability to handle large volumes and meet tight deadlines
- Strong knowledge of company policies and procedures
- Attention to detail; organization, completeness and accuracy
- Good analytical skills with problem-solving ability
- Ability to make decisions and recommendations within authorized limitations
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to present a professional image
- Knowledge of Word and Excel software
- Personal computer and common business machines/software
