Job Summary
Conduct annual reviews of client insurance programs and negotiate with carriers on their behalf using detailed market knowledge. Develop trusted partnerships with key insurance company partners and broker representatives while leading internal discussions on renewals, coverage comparisons, and projected loss picks. Prepare complex submissions for the marketplace, including loss picks, deductible stratification, and exposure information, then assess final audits to ensure accuracy. Acquire and retain large, complex clients through deep understanding of risk mitigation and insurance architecture. Share deep insurance expertise with firm advisors and colleagues to advise, develop, and train them. Obtain and maintain state insurance license or be willing to obtain it within 90 days of employment, supported by a minimum of seven years of relevant experience.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to analyze complex risk exposures, existing insurance coverages, and develop and communicate appropriate recommendations for clients and prospects through risk mapping
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Exceptional technical knowledge of insurance coverage, contracts, insurance market conditions and carrier underwriting appetites with ability to adjust strategy to protect future interests
- Makes sound judgements and decisions based on objective analysis and multiple perspectives
- Obtain and maintain state insurance license or other state insurance license(s), as required by the State Department of Insurance to provide risk management consulting or risk transfer solutions as necessary in states where the firm functions
- Be willing and able to obtain all required licenses within the first 90 days of employment
- A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience
