Job Summary
Review client proposals and drawings to ensure high quality for Retail, Food, and Kiosk designs, then comment and approve all drawing submissions including Schematic, Preliminary, and Final Construction Drawings. Respond to queries from Clients, designers, and contractors while communicating Cadillac Fairview's brand and design strategy to expedite Landlord's approval process. Collaborate with Legal and Leasing teams, attend property Client tracking meetings, and provide ongoing on-site support to stakeholders. Monitor construction sites to ensure design integrity, manage deficiency site visits and documentation letters, and administer Schedule C walk-through sign-offs prior to possession. Create client status reports, manage Client Packages, and initiate Contractor orientation meetings. Work independently across Vancouver and Richmond with flexibility for travel and varying hours.
Required Qualifications
- An undergraduate degree in a 3 or 4 year post-secondary Interior Design/ Architecture Program or other post-secondary education with professional degree from an accredited School of Interior Design/ Architecture or post- secondary education from an accredited college/CEGEP (possess DEC from a minimum 3 year program) with an interior design or architecture designation
- 3-4 years of Interior Design, Architecture or Project Management with a retail and food/restaurant focus
- Solid experience in retail store planning
- ARIDO (or regional equivalent) – intern or greater, AIBC, or AAA or OAA intern or greater
- Design motivated
- experience in a client service role
- Basic project management skills and knowledge in National Building Codes
- Ability to read and understand comprehensive and fully developed construction drawing sets (i.e.: architectural mechanical and electrical plans) and possess a solid knowledge of construction detailing
- Knowledgeable of the following programs: Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), AutoCad, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, BlueBeam Revu and Sketch-Up
- Ability to communicate ideas through sketching and graphic representation as well as verbally
- Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize
- Self-motivated
- ability to take direction from multiple people simultaneously
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Flexibility with hours and ability to travel when required
- Experience with construction sites and ability to address on site construction issues
- Presentation skills for both internal and external clients
- Ability to influence reason and develop building strong relationship skills with both internal and external clients
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrate tact and diplomacy in problem solving/conflict resolution while being solution oriented and pro-active
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to undertake and effectively manage large-scale projects is an asset
