Job Summary

Conduct client outreach regarding available services and opportunities, confirming contact information and assisting with barriers to self-sufficiency such as language, childcare, or transportation. Consolidate and organize client service delivery data into spreadsheets and databases, tracking employment placements, progress, and case notes in IRC's system. Support early employment efforts by researching job openings, conducting assessments, and creating resumes and cover letters. Transport clients to employment-related activities and document all activities in case files. Record hours and submit completed timesheets monthly via the IRC's online Volunteer Dashboard. This unpaid internship reports to the Economic Empowerment Supervisor and requires current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree or recent graduate
  • Good written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and able to engage clients in a counseling/coaching role
  • Comfortable working with people from a broad, global environment
  • Willingness to transport clients in your personal vehicle
