Job Summary
Coordinate mental health services for individuals experiencing homelessness from Union Hall in Queens, NY, including comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessments, clear written reports, crisis intervention, outreach, safety planning, referrals, and linkage to community resources. Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to enhance access to in-shelter and community mental health services, including on-site or telehealth options, with collaboration to advocate for clients with ACS/DHS and housing services; provide counseling or brief interventions as needed and assist with housing applications and follow-up, while maintaining documentation in CARES and coordinating transportation as required.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in the state of New York upon hire, or obtain licensure within three (3) months of hire
- At least one year of experience in social services, counseling, crisis intervention, family services, preventive services, housing services, or homeless services is strongly preferred
- Knowledge and experience working with diverse cultures and ethnicities
- Expertise in strengths-based and solution-focused practice
- Experience facilitating groups for adults
- Proficiency in Spanish and/or French a plus
