Job Summary
Client Care Coordinator/Social Worker at CAMBA’s Kensington Family Shelter in Brooklyn, NY. Responsibilities include maintaining client confidentiality, completing intake applications and screenings, creating and maintaining client files, conducting initial risk assessments and biopsychosocial evaluations, providing immediate-response services, assisting in developing the Independent Living Plan, referring clients to medical/psychiatric services, following up with referrals, advocating for clients, leading case conferences, providing group counseling and psychoeducation, documenting progress and reports, and ensuring charts contain required documentation. Requires LMSW within one year of hire, 2+ years of relevant experience (preferably in family shelters), required clearances (SCR, SEL, fingerprinting), First Aid/CPR and overdose-prevention certifications, TB negative test, and bilingual preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW) required within one year of date of hire
- Two years of relevant experience (preferably family shelters shelter settings)
- Must obtain State Central Registry (SCR) clearance
- The Register of Substantiated Category One Cases of Abuse or Neglect aka Staff Exclusion List (SEL) clearance
- Criminal history information checks via fingerprinting with New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services prior to start of employment
- Ability to maintain clearances throughout the duration of employment
- Required to become First Aid/CPR certified
- Required to become certified in overdose prevention
- Doctor's confirmation certifying good health (proof of negative TB test results)
- Bi-lingual preferred
