Job Summary
The NYS HELPS Division seeks a Clerk Typist to support CPSE/CSE processes, attend meetings to take minutes, manage and file special education records, respond to inquiries, and handle data entry and Medicaid/STAC paperwork. Requires typing proficiency, strong office- and data-management skills, confidentiality, outstanding organization, and proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook. Prior school district experience and excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer-service abilities are preferred. 35 hours/week, typical schedule 7:30am–3:00pm in East Amherst, NY.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma
- Typing ability
- Working knowledge of office terminology procedures and equipment
- Working knowledge of business arithmetic and English
- Ability to type from clear copy or rough draft at a reasonable rate of speed
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to write legibly
- Clerical aptitude

- Physical condition commensurate with demands of the position
