Job Summary
Handle cash transactions, sort, clean, hang, price, and tag donated merchandise while adhering to Kaizen organization principles. Assess item quality and style, removing unacceptable goods, then stock displays to maximize salability. Operate cash registers and ATMs accurately, load/unload trailers safely, and maintain floor appearance, cleanliness, and shopping environment standards. Monitor machinery, ensure proper working order for registers and restrooms, and manage exterior building and parking lot upkeep. Provide quality customer service to shoppers and donors. This part-time role at Goodwill Industries® of Sacramento Valley and Northern Nevada, Inc. requires flexibility for weekends and holidays, lifting up to 50 pounds, and English reading/writing skills.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge in retail field or warehouse
- 18 years of age or older
- Ability to effectively communicate, including reading and writing in English
- Ability to perform tasks involving pushing, pulling, carrying, and lifting items up to 50 pounds
- Inclination toward repetitive and routine tasks
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to operate cash register, ATM, fax machine, calculator, pricing gun, and fastener attaching gun
- No direct threat to the safety and health of self, others or property
- Proof of identification and eligibility to work in the United States of America
