Job Summary
Clerk Payroll supporting the Payroll Supervisor by processing payroll and ensuring accuracy of timecards and timesheets in computerized systems bi-weekly; inputting payroll data into Paycom; calculating deductions and garnishments; preparing 401(k) checks and child support payments; handling manual checks and updating related logs; updating vacation and sick time, bonus reports, and wage statements; processing employment verifications and wage statements for various departments; maintaining payroll records, generating periodic budget and overtime reports, and providing customer service. Requires high school education (or equivalent), 1-3 years payroll experience, strong computer skills (Paycom, Excel, Word), math and analytical ability, and successful completion of Clearinghouse background check.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or the equivalent
- 1-3 years of payroll processing experience for medium to large companies
- Extensive computer skills in Word, Excel, Paycom payroll software, and the Report Smith Program
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service
- Mathematical skills for fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions
- Ability to apply common sense and follow instructions, and handle problems with multiple variables
- Clearinghouse background check required; must be registered with the Florida Clearinghouse and consent to access records
