Job Summary
Operate a cash register efficiently, performing checkout procedures with accurate handling of cash, EBT, debit cards, credit cards, WIC vouchers, gift cards, coupons, and checks. Stock product on platforms, shelving, peg hooks, and refrigerated cases while maintaining proper rotation for dated items and ensuring price tags are displayed per guidelines. Complete assigned cleaning duties including floors, windows, display cases, registers, backrooms, restrooms, and the parking lot to maintain a safe, clean working environment. Assist with unloading delivery trucks, retrieving carts, and handling power and non-powered equipment to move stock. Provide excellent customer service by communicating in a friendly manner and adhere to all company policies, safety standards, and uniform dress codes.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- Must be able to read, write and speak in English
- Proficiency in basic math skills required, including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
- basic computer skills
- Must be dependable and flexible to work scheduled shifts, including a willingness to work in other areas of the store as needed with little or no advance notice
- Must adhere to safety standards
- Must adhere to a uniform dress code
- Requires the ability to reach, bend, balance, lift and transport various objects weighing 20-50 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift
- Must have the ability to stand, walk and / or move about for extended periods of time
- Requires the ability to push, pull, grasp, twist and use sawing motions for extended periods of time
- Regularly works in freezers, coolers, refrigerators, inside and outside of the store in all weather conditions and inside delivery trucks
- Ability to demonstrate, understand and apply workplace values
