Job Summary
Clerk at the City of Virginia Beach Human Services front desk and customer care center. Greet and assist visitors, route calls, provide information about programs, hours, and locations, follow security procedures, handle mail and packages, maintain directories, explain policies, operate computer systems for screening and communication, resolve complaints by directing to appropriate programs, and maintain professionalism in high-stress interactions. Requires strong customer service and communication skills, ability to manage high-volume inquiries, basic computer proficiency, and a professional demeanor; prior experience in customer service, clerical, or administrative roles is preferred. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM with weekly pay and benefits.
