Job Summary
Diagnostic Clerk role within Shared Health’s Diagnostic Imaging department in Winnipeg. Reports to the Charge Technologist or Diagnostic Support Supervisor and is responsible for performing functions related to the Diagnostic Services Department to ensure timeliness, accuracy and quality services to clients. Requires hospital/medical clinic experience with direct public contact, proficiency with Windows-based programs (Word, Excel, Outlook) and medical terminology, strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work with minimal supervision in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment, and accurate word processing. Must maintain professional conduct, handle routine interruptions, and comply with required background checks. The position is in-person with a schedule that includes days, evenings and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 12 education or equivalent
- Completion of post-secondary education in office administration through a business school or college an asset
- Experience with Windows-based programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Pleasant and courteous telephone manner
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and frequent interruptions
- Ability to respect and promote culturally diverse population
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team
- Good organizational skills and the ability to work independently
- Ability to make decisions and demonstrate problem-solving skills
- Accurate word processing at 40 words per minute
- Ability to speak Cree an asset
- Current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment
