Job Summary
Clerk in the Emergency Department performing reception and clerical duties, basic patient care under a licensed nurse, and coordination of admissions, discharges, and transfers. Responsibilities include greeting visitors, operating office equipment (nurse call, fax, scanners, photocopier, computer system, telemetry), maintaining supplies, conducting quality checks, transporting specimens, adhering to safety practices, and flexible unit assignment. Requires medical terminology knowledge and strong customer service/communication skills; CNA coursework preferred and prior medical-field experience advantageous. Emphasis on accurate keyboarding, task organization, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, clinical-administrative environment. Benefits include competitive pay and comprehensive plans. Required Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Completion of C.N.A course if currently in high school
- Required Medical Terminology course or within one year of hire
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems (word processing, managing files and records)
- Ability to organize tasks and manage multiple tasks
- Ability to communicate effectively and listen actively
