Job Summary
Clerical Specialist in the Milwaukee County Community Reintegration Center coordinates admission records, reviews and interprets legal documents including commitment papers, calculates sentence structures, and updates bookings to ensure compliance with court orders. Responsibilities include authorizing resident releases, communicating with judges, attorneys, probation agents, and public defenders, processing paperwork, and verifying CCAP, JOC’s, and 1047 forms. Updates release dates and coordinates with the Department of Corrections as needed. The role requires lifting up to 100 lbs and carrying up to 40 lbs, works on 2nd shift including weekends and holidays, and may involve occasional overtime. Requires high school level education, at least one year of clerical experience, proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams, and strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently is essential.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- One (1) year or more of work experience in a clerical support role required
- Intermediate knowledge of all related computer and software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams required
- Previous data entry experience required
- Excellent communication skills via phone or in person interactions required
- Excellent organizational skills required
- Must be able to work independently
