Job Summary
Act as the liaison between clinical and clerical personnel, ensuring adherence to all BMH policies and procedures while managing insurance carrier rules and regulations. Maintain clear thinking and reasoning ability to adapt to emergency situations and make sound independent judgments. Instill confidence in patients, physicians, and co-workers through exceptional interpersonal skills and professional presentation. Ensure compliance with laws and regulations regarding OIG, OSHA, CLIA, HIPAA, and JCAHO. High school graduate or equivalent preferred with 1-2 years physician practice experience.
Desired Qualifications
- CPT, ICD-9 Coding, Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial Insurance coding knowledge
- knowledge of insurance carrier rules and regulations
- familiarity with laws and regulations regarding OIG, OSHA, CLIA, HIPAA, and JCAHO as it applies to hospital owned physician outpatient clinics
- clear thinking and reasoning ability
- ability to adapt to emergency situations
- ability to make sound judgments independently
- ability to instill confidence in patients, physicians and co-workers
- exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills
- professional presentation in attire and attitude
- ability to ensure adherence to all BMH policies and procedures
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Associates degree in Business Management, Health Care Management or related field
- 1-2 years physician practice experience
