Job Summary
Escort and monitor visitors to secure sites, including access control through identification confirmation and inspection of hand-carried items. Maintain visitor access logs, control physical and electronic locks, and guide individuals throughout the facility while preventing disclosure of sensitive information. Develop knowledge of post orders, policies, and standards of conduct; report and respond to security incidents. Complete pre-assignment and sustainment training, including online modules, and assist in team collateral duties. Execute assigned reports and promote data center security awareness. Ability to travel to local sites in Columbia, Maryland; Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph required.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of one (1) year as a security escort, or one year of local, state, or federal law enforcement experience
- A minimum of 21 years of age
- Ability to complete a security officer training course and conduct regularly scheduled sustainment training
- Ability to operate various security screening related equipment
- Must have reliable transportation during all seasons
- Firm grasp on the use and implementation of technology, programs, and applications on data bearing devices
- Strong ability to learn new technology systems and programs
- Ability to demonstrate professional communication via verbal, written, and email correspondence
- Must have High School diploma or GED
- Ability to complete State Security Guard Certification including the application process, fingerprints, and background investigation
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and periodic random drug screening
- Required Security Clearance: Top Secret / SCI with Polygraph
Desired Qualifications
- Current State-issued Security Guard Certification
- A minimum of one (1) year of honorable military service, active or reserve, in any branch of the US Armed Forces
- Two (2) years of security, military, or law enforcement experience
- Demonstrated history of safe and successful security operations experience in highly secure facilities
- Previous experience operating a Walk-Through Metal Detector, hand-held metal detector and hand-held radio
