Job Summary
Escort and monitor visitors to secure sites, confirming identification and inspecting hand-carried items while maintaining line-of-sight. Conduct access control, maintain visitor logs, and report security incidents per post orders. Guide individuals throughout the site, control physical and electronic locks, and prevent disclosure of sensitive information. Assist in promoting data center security policies and execute assigned reports. Complete pre-assignment, client, state, and PGI sustainment training, including online modules. This role requires a Top Secret/SCI clearance, one year of security or law enforcement experience, and the ability to operate security screening equipment. Travel to local sites in the Columbia, Maryland area is necessary. Hourly rate is $42.00–$44.00.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of one (1) year as a security escort, or one year of local, state, or federal law enforcement experience
- A minimum of 21 years of age
- Ability to complete a security officer training course and conduct regularly scheduled sustainment training
- Ability to operate various security screening related equipment
- Must have reliable transportation during all seasons
- Firm grasp on the use and implementation of technology, programs, and applications on data bearing devices
- Strong ability to learn new technology systems and programs
- Ability to demonstrate professional communication via verbal, written, and email correspondence
- Must have High School diploma or GED
- Ability to complete Security Guard Certification including the application process, fingerprints, and background investigation
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and periodic random drug screening
- Required Security Clearance: Top Secret / SCI
Desired Qualifications
- Current State-issued Security Guard Certification
- A minimum of one (1) year of honorable military service, active or reserve, in any branch of the US Armed Forces
- Two (2) years of security, military, or law enforcement experience
- Demonstrated history of safe and successful security operations experience in highly secure facilities
- Previous experience operating a Walk-Through Metal Detector, hand-held metal detector and hand-held radio
