Job Summary
Support day-to-day referral coordination and tracking for specialty care; review referrals for completeness and process them within required timelines; schedule appointments and help patients understand next steps; confirm patient eligibility and update records using military healthcare systems; import and scan medical documents into the correct electronic health record; prepare referral tracking reports and performance metrics; educate patients about TRICARE benefits, referrals, and travel-related resources; deliver professional, friendly service to all patients and clinic staff; communicate with patients, internal teams, and outside providers.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 2 years of healthcare administrative experience (within the last 3 years preferred)
- Knowledge of HIPAA, TRICARE benefits, and ICD-9 coding (preferred)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Strong customer service, organization, and communication skills
- Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows
- Familiarity with scheduling systems and referral processes in outpatient care
- Must be able to obtain military base access
- Must be a US citizen
