Job Summary
Entry-level Cleanup Laborer at Kane Sawmill responsible for supporting safe, efficient mill operations. Responsibilities include sweeping and shoveling debris and sawdust, lifting and moving lumber, hauling waste with a wheelbarrow, using air to clean floors and equipment, maintaining waste systems by clearing clogs, and using hand and power tools (e.g., circular saw, chainsaw) to break up materials. Willingness to learn operations of steer-skid loader, tractor, and chipper; follow all safety standards; report hazards; and perform additional duties as assigned. On-site attendance is essential and PPE is required at all times.
Required Qualifications
- Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older
- Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal history check
- Pre-employment drug screening
- Ability to follow all company, state and federal safety rules
- Knowledge and ability to operate hand tools and a chainsaw and other power tools preferred
- Willingness to wear PPE
- On-site attendance required
- Previous experience with hand tools/power tools preferred
- Ability to lift/push/pull materials like lumber
- Ability to operate basic shop equipment (circular saw, loader, chipper)
