Job Summary

Maintain production, HVAC, and facility equipment by detecting errors before damage occurs, performing tear downs, rebuilds, and preventive maintenance, and testing repairs to ensure smooth operation. Execute sanitation functions, adhere to cGMPs, HACCP, and SQF policies, and report food safety or quality issues immediately. Operate sophisticated machinery requiring knowledge of electrical, electronics, hydraulics, and pneumatics, while wearing required PPE and following Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures. Work a flexible 2nd shift schedule (3:00pm-11:30pm) with overtime as needed to meet production demands.

Required Qualifications

  • High School or Vo-Tech School graduate
  • 3+ years related experience or training
  • In a certification program for maintenance, mechanical, electrical or other equipment related discipline
  • Reliable self-starter with good attendance record
  • Proficient in basic computer use with the ability to learn and use new systems quickly & efficiently
  • Proficient in a maintenance management system
  • Safely operate and use standard shop equipment
  • Understanding of the concept of continuous improvement, six sigma or lean manufacturing
  • Certification: Forklift Certified
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Proficient in math skills (imperial & metric), as well as measurement and use of measurement tools
  • Ability to read and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Strong problem-solving ability
  • Time-management – organized with ability to adapt to changing situations
  • Work independently and in a team environment and take direction from others
  • Ability to communicate clearly and work well with all levels in the organization
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations, manage priorities and crises situations in a professional manner
  • Ability to read blue prints, electrical, hydraulic and ladder logic and operational procedures
  • Knowledge, skills and ability to train Maintenance Technician I
  • Effectively communicate with supervisor
  • The ability to read, write, and comprehend information provided
  • Stand for most of the work shift
  • Use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, crouch, bend, twist, and only occasionally sit
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Have a basic understanding of the cGMPs and Good Hygiene Personnel Practices
  • Have knowledge and experience with LOTO (Lock-Out Tag-Out)
  • Adhere to safety policies
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and report any unsafe conditions to supervisor
  • Wear company issued personal protective equipment (PPE) such as uniforms, gloves, hairnets
  • Work a flexible schedule, including overtime, as needed based on production demands
  • Adhere to and communicate to others the Health, Safety and Quality policies, including use of PPE
  • Perform all duties necessary to meet Company, and or Regulatory Requirements / standards as prioritized by the Company, HACCP, and SQF
  • Employee follows all Food Fraud/food Defense Policies while on company property
  • Thorough understanding of all Company policies, including GMP's and safety policies, HACCP & SQF

Desired Qualifications

  • Completed technical certification in maintenance or working towards mechanic, electrical, or other equipment related discipline
  • Knowledge and/or previous experience in blow molding, injection molding or extrusion molding
  • Experience with processing or troubleshooting of plastics manufacturing equipment
  • Some knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and electronics
  • Knowledge of and/or previous experience in a manufacturing environment
